1. The organised Labour has expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding it signed with the Federal Government to avert its planned nationwide strike. The state chapters of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress said failure to implement the agreement before the October 30 deadline might leave them with no choice but to down tools.

The Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Campaign Council in Bayelsa State has advised the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the November 11 governorship election, Chief Timipre Sylva, to honourably step down from the race as the odds were allegedly against him. 3. Twenty-five soldiers and an officer are currently being court-martialed in the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army for various offences.
