Lamine Yamal has named the two best teams at the 2026 World Cup.
Glamtush reports that Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has described Spain and France as the strongest teams at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Yamal expressed confidence that La Roja can overcome the French in their semi-final clash.
The Spain international made the remarks during his pre-match press conference on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s last-four encounter.
“Ever since the tournament got underway, many people have been hoping for this match,” Yamal said via FIFA’s website.
“For me, these are the two best teams at this World Cup. We’re not afraid. If anyone can beat France, it’s us.”
Spain has been among the tournament’s most impressive sides, reaching the semi-finals after eliminating Belgium in the quarter-finals.
France also advanced to the last four with a victory over Morocco, setting up one of the most anticipated fixtures of the competition.
The two European heavyweights have consistently been ranked among the favourites to win the tournament, with Spain seeking to add a second World Cup title to the one they won in 2010, while France are aiming to lift the trophy for the third time after their triumphs in 1998 and 2018.
Tuesday’s encounter will determine which side progresses to the World Cup final, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final.
