VIDEO: Dispatch Rider Nabbed After Baby Was Allegedly Found In His Courier Box, Police Reacts

A dispatch rider in Lagos State has been apprehended after a baby was allegedly found inside his courier box.

According to online reports, the incident happened in the Sangotedo Area of Lagos on Friday, March 11.

A video of the incident shared online showed the rider being assaulted by a mob who later dragged him to a police station.

One of the persons in the background was heard saying, “This is the child that was abducted.”

The Lagos State Police Command says it will be investigating the matter.

In a statement released on Saturday, March 12, the spokesperson of the command, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, says the incident which was said to have occurred in the Sangotedo area, Lekki, was not reported at any police station to enable the police to take appropriate actions.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has directed that efforts should be intensified to locate the whereabouts of the alleged dispatch rider and the parents or guardians of the child to enable the police to investigate the incident.
