1. Troops of 6 Division, Nigerian Army, in conjunction with other security agencies, on Sunday announced a breakthrough in their ongoing war against economic sabotage in the Niger Delta. The troops destroyed over 56 illegal oil bunkering sanctuaries, 88 cooking drums, and 20 boats and recovered 1.2 million litres of stolen crude in their various operations in the Niger Delta.

2. The Cross River State Government has finalised an agreement with organized labour to implement a N70,000 national minimum wage, including consequential adjustments across all levels, effective December 1, 2024. Discussions between labour and the government continued late into Sunday night. While full details of the meeting remain unclear, the Chief Press Secretary, Gill Nsa, confirmed the resolution.

3. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart France on Monday for Cape Town, South Africa, where he will co-chair the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa. This was disclosed on Sunday in a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

4. Nigeria has taken a major step in combating its dual public health challenges with the rollout of the malaria vaccine on Sunday in Bayelsa and Kebbi States, targeting areas with the highest malaria prevalence. In addition, the country has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR), an emerging global health threat.

5. Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State on Sunday revealed that certain individuals are benefiting from the ongoing insurgency in the state. In an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Zulum disclosed that the sponsors of the insurgency have no interest in seeing the crisis come to an end.

6. Reports said armed terrorists launched a deadly attack on the Kungurki community in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing an elderly man and abducting 13 residents, including a two-month-old baby and his mother. This was made known on Sunday by Zagazola Makama, a Lake Chad Basin counterterrorism and insurgency expert, in a post on his X handle.

7. President Bola Tinubu has disclosed that the economic policies that he initiated upon his assumption of office are now yielding the desired results. Tinubu, who acknowledged that the policies were harsh on the people, stated that the move became imperative in order to salvage the country from the crises facing it.

8. Barring any last-minute change of plan, the workers in the Federal Capital Territory, Cross River, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, Kaduna and Zamfara states may down tools on Monday (today) following the failure of the state authorities to negotiate the payment of the N70,000 new minimum wage.

9. A 22-year-old fashion designer, Eniola Oduse and her two children, four-year-old Eri and two-year-old Onoara, have been burnt to death after suspected arsonists set their home ablaze at the Ita Marun community in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State. The deceased’s husband, Kehinde, 25, who was also caught up in the fire, is currently battling for his life in an undisclosed hospital.

10. The Nigeria Police Force said its operatives in Borno have repelled an attack on Jakana Divisional Police Headquarters by a group of terrorists. The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a statement on Sunday that the attempted attack occurred on November 28 at about 1:00 am, but added that the attempt was met with strong resistance from police operatives.
