Makinde has congratulated Adeleke on his re-election as governor of Osun State.
Glamtush reports that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has congratulated his Osun State counterpart, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election for another four-year term in office.
Makinde, in a message posted on his X account on Sunday morning, said the outcome of Saturday’s governorship election reflected the will of the people of Osun State.
“Hearty congratulations to my brother, His Excellency Ademola @AAdeleke_01, on his reelection as Governor of Osun State. It has indeed been a long and arduous journey but we are delighted that the will of the good people of Osun State prevailed in the end,” Makinde said.
Adeleke of the Accord Party defeated his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to secure a second term as governor of the South-West state.
According to the Returning Officer for the election, Joshua Ogunwole, who declared the results at the INEC Collation Centre in Osogbo, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes.
Oyebamiji scored 444,815 votes, while Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 17,180 votes.
