Kaduna-Abuja train victim’s relative has begged for the release of bandit negotiator, Tukur Mamu.
Glamtush reports that a family member of the remaining Kaduna-Abuja train abduction victims, currently in captivity, has cried to the federal government to prevail on the Department of State Services (DSS) to urgently release the arrested bandit negotiator to assist in the release of his relative.
Speaking to Daily Post in Kaduna, Yusufu Musa begged the federal government to help release Tukur Mamu to assist in the release of his sister and other victims still held captive.
However, the federal government, through the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Maigari Dingiyadi, has assured the victims’ families that the arrest of the publisher of the Desert Herald, Tukur Mamu, will not hinder efforts to release victims of the Kaduna train attack.
Dingiyadi stated this immediately after the NSC meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa on Thursday.
Recall that there is currently apprehension among many Nigerians that the remaining Kaduna-Abuja train victims may not be released following the arrest of Mamu, the bandit negotiator, over allegations of terrorism.
This online platform recalls that over 60 Kaduna-Abuja train passengers were abducted in March 2022. Since then, they have been released in batches, through the publisher of the Kaduna-based Desert Herald Newspapers, Mamu, leaving 22 others still in captivity.
A few days ago, Mamu was arrested in Egypt on his way to Hajj and later released. He was, however, picked up again by the DSS upon arrival at the Nigerian airport.
