Are you tired of  eating the same old eba or fufu? Then, you should try oatmeal fufu, a nutritious, healthy and delicious alternative.

Oats are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making them a great choice for a healthy meal.

Oatmeal Fufu Benefits

  • Rich in fiber: Oats are a great source of fiber, particularly beta-glucan, which can help lower cholesterol, improve blood sugar control, and keep you feeling full for longer.
  • Weight management: Feeling full after a meal is crucial for weight management. Oat swallow’s fiber content can help you avoid overeating.
  • Easy to prepare: Oat swallow is simple to make with just a few ingredients.

Note that you can make your own oat flour at home by blending quick or rolled oats until fine or buy the already blended one.

How To Make Oatmeal Fufu

Ingredients

1 Cup Oats

1.5 Cups Water

Preparations

  • In a pot, bring water to a boil. You can also add a pinch of salt, although it’s optional.
  • The amount of water you will need depends on the quantity of the oat swallow you want to make. As a general guideline, you will need about 1 cup of water for every ¼ cup of oat flour.
  • Once the water is boiling, gradually add the oat flour to the pot while stirring continuously with a wooden spoon or spatula to prevent lumps from forming.
  • Keep stirring the mixture over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until it thickens and forms a smooth, dough-like consistency. If the mixture is too thick, you can add more water gradually until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Once the oat mixture has thickened to your liking, reduce the heat and cover the pot. Allow it to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to ensure the oatmeal fufu is fully cooked.
  • Remove the pot from the heat and allow it sit for a minute or two to cool slightly.
  • You can serve immediately with your favourite soup or wrap in a nylon and keep in a cooler until you are ready to eat.

So, give oatmeal fufu a try and discover a healthier, tastier way to enjoy your meals.
