Amb. Kingsley Okwara has stated that the African Union is committed to the vision of Agenda 2063.

Glamtush reports that Ambassador Dr. Engr. Kingsley Okwara stated this while delivering his keynote address at the 1st annual lecture and gala night of the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, held at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

In his speech, Ambassador Okwara, Deputy Head of Mission of the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, emphasized the critical role of African member states in integrating the goals and aspirations of Agenda 2063 to drive sustainable development across the continent.

He underscored the need for unity among African nations to foster an Africa without borders, reinforcing the Assembly’s commitment to regional integration and economic growth. In his address, he highlighted key initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of African citizens, including the organization’s mental health program, which promotes mental health awareness across the continent.

Additionally, he announced the upcoming launch of the Shield Bearer program, designed to support vulnerable populations, and introduced the “Rent to Own a Home” initiative, urging government leaders to adopt these programs as strategic tools for enhancing development and improving living standards.

The event was attended by distinguished executives and leaders, including H.E. Amb. Prof. Tunji John Asaolu, Chairman, Governing Council, AU Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly; Amb. Dr. Emmanuel Egejurum, Esq., Speaker; and Amb. Dr. Stephen Gbatigbi Ben-Joel, Head of Mission.

In recognition of his exceptional philanthropy, Chief Oscar Igbokwe, President and CEO of Bussdor Group of Companies, received a prestigious award for his contributions to humanitarian efforts and economic development in Africa.

Okwara’s speech reinforced the African Union’s dedication to achieving the vision of Agenda 2063, a strategic framework designed to position Africa as a global powerhouse by 2063. The Assembly continues to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote economic growth, social progress, cultural development, peace, security, and good governance across the continent.

The 1st annual lecture and gala night provided a platform for stakeholders, policymakers, and development partners to engage in meaningful discussions on advancing Africa’s progress. As the Assembly moves forward, it remains steadfast in its mission to implement Agenda 2063’s objectives and create a prosperous, integrated, and sustainable Africa for future generations.
