Governor Soludo’s ANSEC has embarked on a facelift of Ojukwu Varsity Trauma Centre.

Glamtush reports that in furtherance of its unwavering commitment to the health sector, the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) under Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has awarded the contract for the landscaping of the car park for the Trauma Centre at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku, Awka, to Triseconds Resources Ltd.

The State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, stated that the move was made at the 25th ANSEC meeting held at the Lighthouse, Awka, on 15th December 2025, amidst several important decisions.

The sector which has been transformed by Governor Soludo since its inception in office, has been prioritised in the 2026 Budget Proposal, with a focus on providing quality healthcare services to the people of the state.

The budget presented to the State’s House of Assembly, with N162.6 billion allocated for recurrent expenditure and N595.3 billion for capital expenditure, focuses on building new schools, upgrading existing ones, and completing ongoing healthcare projects.

Given that, Governor Soludo’s administration will be deepening the ongoing interventions in healthcare and, in addition, completing the investment in the entire healthcare ecosystem with the completion of the College of Nursing and the construction of a specialist teaching hospital (with specialisation in Oncology).

The governor has provided free antenatal and delivery services for over 161,197 pregnant women, including 594 free caesarean surgeries with zero mortality. This achievement underscores the government’s commitment to reducing maternal mortality and improving healthcare outcomes.

He has built four brand-new general hospitals in local governments that previously lacked such facilities, and is nearing completion on the construction, modernisation, and equipping of 326 primary healthcare centres, with solar power, boreholes, and essential medical equipment for reliable and quality healthcare services.

The Solution Governor, as he is popularly called, even by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during his commissioning of landmark projects in Anambra, is determined to complete the coordinated wholesale centre in Oba, which will be the largest drug market in Africa.

In recognition of his incredible performance in healthcare, Governor Soludo, in 2024, was recognised as the most performing governor in primary healthcare in the Southeast region and overall nationally, with the cash prizes of $1,200,000, for the awards. The sum of $500,000 for the feat in the Southeast, and $700,000 for overall excellence in the Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge.
