4. The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has directed all traditional chiefs and leaders in Benin Kingdom to perform the traditional “Bisusu” ceremony to ward off evil ahead of the governorship election. The ceremony is to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free gubernatorial election in the state. This is contained in a statement by Chief Stanley Obamwonyi, the Esere of Benin on Wednesday.

5. The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on Wednesday, announced that 35,000 personnel would be deployed for the Edo State guber poll. Egbetokun also warned the state-owned security outfit, Edo State Security Network, to steer clear of the poll, saying the outfit had been banned.

6. An intending tenant, whose name was not known, has vanished with two children in the Igando area of Ilesa, Osun State. It was gathered on Wednesday that the tenant allegedly abducted the children, aged four and two, after cleaning her one-room apartment in a ‘face-me-and-face-you’ building around the Cele area of Igando on Saturday.
