1. Troops of 6 Division, Nigerian Army, in conjunction with other security agencies, on Sunday announced a breakthrough in their ongoing war against economic sabotage in the Niger Delta. The troops destroyed over 56 illegal oil bunkering sanctuaries, 88 cooking drums, and 20 boats and recovered 1.2 million litres of stolen crude in their various operations in the Niger Delta.

2. The Cross River State Government has finalised an agreement with organized labour to implement a N70,000 national minimum wage, including consequential adjustments across all levels, effective December 1, 2024. Discussions between labour and the government continued late into Sunday night. While full details of the meeting remain unclear, the Chief Press Secretary, Gill Nsa, confirmed the resolution.

3. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart France on Monday for Cape Town, South Africa, where he will co-chair the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa. This was disclosed on Sunday in a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

4. Nigeria has taken a major step in combating its dual public health challenges with the rollout of the malaria vaccine on Sunday in Bayelsa and Kebbi States, targeting areas with the highest malaria prevalence. In addition, the country has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR), an emerging global health threat.

5. Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State on Sunday revealed that certain individuals are benefiting from the ongoing insurgency in the state. In an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Zulum disclosed that the sponsors of the insurgency have no interest in seeing the crisis come to an end.

6. Reports said armed terrorists launched a deadly attack on the Kungurki community in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing an elderly man and abducting 13 residents, including a two-month-old baby and his mother. This was made known on Sunday by Zagazola Makama, a Lake Chad Basin counterterrorism and insurgency expert, in a post on his X handle.

7. President Bola Tinubu has disclosed that the economic policies that he initiated upon his assumption of office are now yielding the desired results. 9. A 22-year-old fashion designer, Eniola Oduse and her two children, four-year-old Eri and two-year-old Onoara, have been burnt to death after suspected arsonists set their home ablaze at the Ita Marun community in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State.
