The President’s request was conveyed in a letter which Senate President Godswill Akpabio read during plenary on Tuesday.

2. The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Peter Obi, has attributed the high level of insecurity in the country to widespread poverty. 4. The African Democratic Congress (ADC), presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has said President Bola Tinubu’s request for approval to borrow $20.51bn and €1.45bn vindicates his October 12 warning about a loan plan of up to $20 billion. Atiku said the President’s failure to identify the specific projects the loans would fund raises serious concerns.
