The road to October 10 has officially begun as the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) unveils the final nominees for its 7th edition, following a thorough review of the provisional list.
The review resulted in necessary corrections, additions and removals, ensuring that the final list reflects the awards’ standards of credibility, relevance and eligibility.
The result? 590 nominees across 85 categories and 8 sections — and now, the public gets a say.

THE VOTING BEGINS
Public voting opens August 31 and closes October 5, 2026, giving supporters the opportunity to vote for their favourites across the available categories.
NBMA has created three voting and access options:
PREMIUM PASS — ₦10,000
VIP reserved seat + 10 vote credits + automatic raffle entry.
STANDARD VOTER ACCESS — ₦3,000
3 vote credits + automatic raffle entry, with no event ticket or seat allocation.
FREE VOTING
One free vote in every category, with access to all available categories. No ticket purchase or raffle entry required.

Commenting on the unveiling, NBMA Convener, Omogbolahan Akinwumi, said,
“The final list is the product of a deliberate and painstaking review. We corrected where necessary, added where merit demanded it and removed where the required standards were not met. For NBMA, nomination is not simply about recognition; it is about credibility. Now the nominees have their moment, and the public has its voice.”
He added, “The 7th NBMA is more than an awards night. It is a celebration of the people and voices shaping broadcasting in Nigeria. We invite everyone to vote responsibly, support their favourites and join us on October 10 as we celebrate those who earn the spotlight.”
