Revenge, Ambition And Love Play Out In New Telenovela ‘Iron Rose’

Don’t let her looks deceive you. Sometimes the most beautiful things can also be the deadliest. So, fans of Mexican actress, Aracely Arámbula, should look forward to her spectacular performance in a new telenovela, Iron Rose (La Dona) set to premiere May 1.

Iron Rose is a thrilling story of revenge and ambition, seduction and betrayal; told from the perspective of an offended and abused woman named Altagracia Sandoval, played by Aracely Arámbula.

Altagracia Sandoval is a beautiful, successful woman, recognized in society and owner of a millionaire construction company. She takes care of her business, her sister Regina and her niece Isabela. However, at a very young age, Altagracia suffered the murder of her parents and falls victim to rape by a group of young, rich men known as ‘The Porkys’, who strip her of her innocence. She became pregnant and gave birth to a girl named Monica whom she could not raise as the living memory of her worst experience.

Altagracia represents the hundreds of thousands of Mexican women who have been victims of violence faceless men, protected by impunity. But Altagracia has transformed into a ruthless woman devouring men, strong-willed and known as “La Doña”, look to each and every one of these men to bring them to justice. But her ruthless personality has made her look down at the world, viewing them as weak and worthless, taking property, destroying and maintaining reputations.

The beautiful and headstrong business woman has learnt to use her beauty and charm to get what she wants. Her determination has built an empire that allows her to take the law into her own hands, bringing to justice the men, and those like them, that caused her such harm.

What Altagracia does not know is that her quest for revenge will lead her to her estranged daughter Monica, played by Danna Paola. Monica lives a simple life with her handicapped father, Lazaro Hernandez, played by Odiseo Bichir, and has no knowledge that Altagracia is her mother.

The mother and daughter’s paths will cross again with the arrival of a handsome lawyer, Saul Aguirre played by David Chocarro, who fights for women’s rights after his own sister was killed by her husband. Upon his arrival, he meets both Altagracia and Monica and finds himself attracted to both of them, despite their vastly different personalities. Do the two women feel the same way about him, and what will happen when it’s revealed that Monica is Altagracia’s daughter?

As the drama unfolds, we will learn more about Altagracia’s extended family, Saul’s right hand man and the infamous ‘Porkys’, who are solely responsible for Altagracia’s ruthless outlook on life.
