Osimhen is set to return against Ajax, says Napoli boss, Spalletti.
Glamtush reports that ahead of their Champions League encounter against Ajax on Wednesday, Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti says star striker Victor Osimhen is ready to make his return from injury.
This online platform recalls that the Nigerian international got injured in Napoli’s UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool on September 8.
He trained with his teammates on Monday for the first time since he sustained the injury.
According to Spalletti, Osimhen is in the right shape to feature in Wednesday’s game against the Eredivisie Champions who also have Nigerian international, Calvin Bassey in their ranks.
The Italian manager described him as the strength of their team, stressing how lucky they are to have him.
He said, “Victor is a strength of our team because he is a top player. He is working well and is ready to give his contribution,” Spalleti told a press conference on Tuesday.
“For us, Osimhen has to become another leader of this team. We are lucky because we have three forwards with different characteristics that together make up the totality of the qualities that complete the department.”
Napoli are unbeaten in this season’s competition, sitting on top of Group A with a win against Ajax to seal their early passage to the next round.
