Jack Dorsey, the Chief Executive Officer of Twitter, on Saturday tweeted the Nigerian flag in solidarity with the West African country on its 2021 Democracy Day celebration.
Dorsey’s tweet, which was posted hours to the ongoing nationwide protests in Nigeria, has since attracted thousands of retweets in the country where Twitter has been suspended by the authorities, but is still being accessed by many through Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
Recall that on June 4, the federal government indefinitely suspended Twitter operations in Nigeria.
The suspension came two days after Twitter took down President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet in reference to the civil war, which it said violated its rules.
