FIFA has released the Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 match schedule.

Glamtush reports that FIFA on Thursday unveiled the match schedule for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, confirming when and where all 64 fixtures will be played across Brazil’s eight vibrant host cities.

The announcement was made at the Home of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland, during the live draw show for the preliminary phase of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Play-Off Tournament.

Hosts Brazil will begin their campaign at the Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, 24 June, before playing their two other group-stage matches at Arena Itaquera in São Paulo on Tuesday, 29 June, and at the Estádio Nacional in Brasília on Sunday, 4 July.

All eight host cities will stage at least seven matches, including a minimum of one knockout fixture. Brasília, Porto Alegre, Recife and Salvador will host matches until the Round-of-16. Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza will join Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo as venues for the quarter-finals.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the competition would mark another important moment for women’s football and give fans and communities across Brazil the opportunity to be part of the event.

“We can’t wait to witness a new chapter of women’s football history unfold when the world’s best players, coaches, fans and local communities take centre stage in Brazil next year,” Infantino said.

The match schedule is structured to culminate with the final in Rio de Janeiro. São Paulo will host one of the semi-finals as well as the bronze-medal match, while the second semi-final and the final will take place at the Maracanã.

FIFA Fan Festivals will also be organised across the host cities, giving supporters opportunities to experience and follow the tournament outside the stadiums.

FIFA’s Chief Women’s Football Officer, Dame Sarai Bareman, said sporting fairness and the experience of fans were among the key considerations in developing the match schedule.

“As we developed the match schedule, we carefully balanced sporting fairness across all 32 teams, considering travel distances, recovery time between matches and the overall competition experience,” Bareman said.

She added that FIFA was also focused on ensuring that supporters across Brazil could participate in the tournament, with every host city playing a meaningful role.

The Maracanã is also set to make history as only the third stadium to host both a men’s FIFA World Cup final and a Women’s World Cup final.

The stadium joins the former Råsunda Stadium in Solna, Sweden, which hosted the men’s final in 1958 and the women’s final in 1995, as well as the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, United States, which staged the men’s final in 1994 and the women’s final in 1999.

Aline Pellegrino, a former captain of Brazil’s women’s national team and executive director of Legacy and Stakeholder Affairs for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, said the country was proud to host the competition.

“Hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil is a source of immense pride,” Pellegrino said. “Next year, we will see people from across Brazil and around the world come together to celebrate women’s football in a country renowned for its love of the game.”

According to Pellegrino, each of the host cities would contribute its unique identity to the tournament and help create an atmosphere that could inspire future generations of players.

With the schedule now released, supporters can begin making plans for their trips to Brazil as host cities, government authorities, and other stakeholders continue preparations for the tournament.

FIFA said the match schedule would be updated after the final draw, which is expected to take place later this year.
