Beyoncé has become the most-nominated artist in Grammy history, surpassing Jay-Z.
Glamtush reports that Beyoncé has taken the lead as the most-nominated artist in Grammy history, scoring 11 nominations for her latest album, Cowboy Carter, and reaching a staggering career total of 99.
This online news platform understands that this breaks her previous tie with her husband, Jay-Z, who holds 88 Grammy nods, making the Carters the reigning Grammy power couple.
“When we talk about Grammy milestones, Beyoncé has set the gold standard,” commented the Recording Academy President in a statement.
“This achievement reflects not just her versatility but her enduring impact across genres and generations.”
The Recording Academy disclosed this in a release on its website, as previously reported by PUNCH Online in its full list of nominations.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, which explores the sounds and stories of Texas, is up for Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year, marking her first-ever nominations in the country and Americana categories.
Her breakout single, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” has earned nominations in Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Country Song of the Year, highlighting her wide-reaching influence across pop, country, Americana, and even melodic rap performance.
If Beyoncé wins Album of the Year, she would make history once again, becoming the first Black woman in the 21st century to earn the award. Lauryn Hill, the last Black woman to claim this top prize, won in 1999 with The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
“Seeing another Black woman win Album of the Year would mean so much,” said Hill. “Beyoncé’s achievement opens doors and redefines boundaries in music.”
Among the year’s other highlights, Post Malone, also a first-time Grammy nominee in the country categories, is recognised for F-1 Trillion, his debut country album.
His duet with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help,” is up for Country Song and Country Duo/Group Performance, marking Wallen’s first Grammy nominations as well.
Malone follows close behind Beyoncé with seven nominations, matched by Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Charli XCX, who earned her first solo Grammy nods.
