AstraZeneca Vaccine To Arrive Within One Week – FG
The Federal Government on Monday said that the highly expected AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine may likely arrive in the country within one week.
It added that 4 million out of the 16 million expected doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive in the first batch of supplies.
However, it stressed it has no control over the exact date of arrival of the vaccines as only the manufacturers can determine that.

Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib, disclosed these in Abuja during the briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.
He said, “We have also been informed that 4 million out of the 16 million doses of AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine will arrive in the first batch of supplies to the country.
“Concerning the timelines for the delivery of the vaccines, when we have any information about the delivery of the vaccine you will also have the same information.
“As of today, the information that we have is that we are likely to get the vaccines within one week. That is to say hopefully between now and next week Monday the vaccines will arrive.

“Within the Presidential Task Force on covid-19 and the Federal Ministry of Health, we do not have control over when the vaccines arrive since vaccines are coming from the manufacturers.
“All we can do is wait and get communication about when the vaccines will arrive. We will not provide information about an exact date unless and until we get those dates from the manufacturers.
“Concerning assurances about the fact that there will be no postponement about the delivery date of the vaccines, trust me it is not our intention to postpone the arrival date of the vaccines.

“We want the vaccines as soon as possible because Nigerians need these vaccines. However, any change in the delivery date will also be transparent and communicated to all Nigerians.”
