According to Abiodun Ayodeji, Marketing Manager of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell – Our Milk and sponsors of the competition, registration for this year’s Cowbellpedia competition is strictly online via the website:www.cowbellpedia.ng, and it is absolutely free.

Each participating school, he further explained, is entitled to put forward five candidates who must be between 10 and 18 years old for each of the junior and senior categories. To encourage Girl Child Education, Mixed Schools are expected to nominate a minimum of two (2) girls for each category to represent such school.

As an added value, the first 1,000 schools to complete their registration will be entitled to a free copy of the Cowbellpedia Compendium, a compilation of questions and answers of past editions of the competition. This is to improve proficiency of students in Mathematics and commemorate the 20th anniversary of Cowbell and Mathematics.

While urging schools and students to avail themselves of the opportunity ahead of the deadline for registration, Ayodeji advised that each school should nominate their best students to boost their chances all through to the final.

In registering their students, the schools should visit www.cowbellpedia.ng, and click on the link ‘Register your school’ for new schools to fill and submit the form while for schools who have registered from previous editions they should click on the link ‘Log In’. Ayodeji stated: “Ensure that you fill all the required fields and an email will be sent to the school and primary contact email address provided when filling the form. The link in the email received would be used to verify the email address. On successful login, click on ‘Add Candidates’ under ‘Candidate Management’, fill in the candidate’s information, upload the candidate’s picture and click the ‘Save Draft’ button. Save the draft information for five (5) candidates for each category before you submit their registration.”

To mark the occasion of 20 years relationship of Cowbell and Mathematics in Nigeria, Promasidor has increased the prizes tremendously such that the winner in each of the senior and junior categories will now receive =N=2,000,000 (Two million naira), instead of N1 million previously. In addition to that is an all-expense paid educational excursion outside the country for the respective category winners.

The first and second runners-up in each category will be rewarded with =N=1,500,000 (One million Five hundred thousand naira) and =N=1,000,000 (One million naira) respectively, up from the previous prizes of N750,000 and N500,000 respectively.

Teachers of the first prize winners will win =N=500,000 (Five hundred thousand naira), while those of the first and second runners-up will receive =N=400,000 (Four hundred thousand naira) and =N=300,000 (Three hundred thousand naira) respectively.
