Primate Ayodele’s prophecies has been fulfilled as CBN sacked the entire board of Titan Trust Bank.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday sacked the entire board of some banks including Titans Bank.

The action follows the recommendation of the Special Investigator, Jim Obazee, appointed by President Bola Tinubu in July 2023, to probe the activities of the CBN and other relevant establishments.

The report of the special investigation into the activities of the CBN had accused the immediate past governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele, of acquiring banks for him through proxies.

The report stated that Emefiele used proxies to acquire Union Bank of Nigeria for Titan Trust Bank Limited and Keystone Bank without any evidence of payment. As a result, the government reversed its sales and took over the bank.

This has fulfilled the prophecy which Primate Ayodele gave about the banking sector in December 2023. Especially on Titan Trust bank, Primate Ayodele mentioned that the bank will face challenges for some illegality in operations. Though he said the bank will do very well even than its contemporaries but there will be problems with the leadership.

These were his words, “Titan trust bank: The bank will expand but the chairman will be indicted. They will blackmail the bank for some illegality in their operations. The bank will face several challenges despite all the good efforts. The bank will do well but there will be major challenges. There are forces that will attempt to bring the bank down.”

Just as the man of God prophesied, the issue that led to the sacking of the entire board was mainly leadership, there were irregularities at the leadership level especially with the acquisition of the bank. The sacking of the board is also a major challenge for the bank and now that the government has taken over, the bank is likely to do very well Just as Primate Ayodele foretold.
