GT Beauty: 3 DIY Sugar Facial Scrub Recipes For Glowing Skin

When was the last time you gave your face some pampering? As you know our skin creates new skin cells daily which pushes the dead cells to the side. To get rid of these dead skin cells build-up which can make our skin look drab, we need to exfoliate.

Right now, you cannot visit the spa even if you would like to because of the social distancing order to curb the spread of the coronavirus virus.

However, you do not have to worry as there are some easy homemade sugar facial scrubs you can try at home conveniently with little or no cost. That’s because you already have all the required ingredients at home that will leave your skin fresh, smooth as well as healthy and glowing by exfoliating dead skin cells.

Having face scrub once in a while is essential for all skin types. However, you should opt for a scrub that is suitable for your skin. These scrubs are organic and homemade skin scrub, so it’s safe to use on your face.

Below are three sugar facial scrub recipes you can do at home.

Sugar and Olive Oil Scrub

Olive oil contains natural antioxidant properties that protect the skin from damage and helps moisturize as well. When combined with sugar which provides all-natural grains that can help remove dead skin, you will notice how effective this scrub is.

Ingredients

·        3 tablespoons olive oil

·        3 tablespoons white granulated sugar

Preparation

·        Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix properly.

To use, spread the mixture on your face and gently massage in a circular motion for two minutes to slough off dead skin. Then leave for about five minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel.

Coconut oil and sugar scrub

Using natural ingredients like organic coconut oil and sugar will give you all the benefits of an exfoliator and moisturizer without leaving your skin oily or clogging up pores.

This easy DIY coconut oil sugar facial scrub is multi-purpose as well. It can also be your all-in-one face wash, exfoliator, moisturizer, and make-up remover. This scrub will keep your skin hydrated and radiant.

Ingredient

2 tablespoons coconut oil

3 tablespoons granulated sugar

Preparation

Simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly using a spoon or fork until all the sugar is mixed into the oil.

To use the scrub, gently massage it on your face in circular motions for about 3-5 minutes depending on the dryness of your face, but, you should avoid the sensitive eye area. Rinse off with a washcloth and warm water and pat dry with a towel. The oil will absorb into your skin immediately, leaving you with a fresh face and glowing complexion.

It is important to know that you should never use a microwave to melt the coconut oil, as this will dissolve the sugar and get rid of the exfoliation properties of the scrub.

Sugar and Lemon Scrub

Lemon as we know is an excellent source of vitamin C, which is known to even skin tone as well as help tighten open pores. While sugar acts as a natural exfoliator, which helps in removing dead and dull skin cells from the face. It will also help keep dark spots at bay.

Ingredients

4 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Preparation

Combine both lemon juice and sugar oil in a bowl and mix thoroughly.

Then massage the mixture gently with your fingertips in a circular motion on your face for about 3 minutes. Ensure to massage the sugar granules well until they evenly dissolve. After this, wash your face with warm water.

This facial scrub helps clear dark spots and remove dead skin layers which will leave your complexion glowing.

Lemon and sugar scrub helps hydrate the skin and make you glow in minutes.
