The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, on Friday, said if elected, a Bola Tinubu-led government will be largely run by the youth.
The governor spoke after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Friday.
He is confident that the flagbearer for his party, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC), has the qualities to steer the country’s affairs if elected in next month’s presidential election.
“His administration, by God’s special grace, will be more run by the younger generation. And you know, surely, that the younger generation constitutes the quantum number of voters in this coming election,” he told reporters after the meeting.
“We’re more enlightened. We know that Bola Ahmed Tinubu knows the road. And we are ready to follow that person who knows the road, which is Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
“That is why you can see that President Muhammadu Buhari is already campaigning for him, that he will continue where he will stop,” the Governor said.
The governor said the meeting was to thank the President for his visit to the North Central state earlier in the year.
He was not the only top dignitary that visited Buhari on the day. His Osun State counterpart Ademola Adeleke was also there, his first visit to the Nigerian leader since his swearing-in as governor.
Governor Adeleke praised Buhari for his role in his election, saying the Electoral Law signed by the President was instrumental to his 2022 victory.
Adeleke won the exercise under the umbrella of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
