World Cup Qualifiers, Nigeria, seven African countries progress, see full list.

Glamtush reports Nigeria and Algeria have become the latest two African countries to progress to the play-off round of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers after both teams picked up draws in their last round of matches on Tuesday.

Nigeria played a 1-1 draw with Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, to top Group C with 13 points.

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, scored the only goal for Nigeria against Cape Verde.

Algeria, on the other hand, played to a 2-2 draw with Burkina Faso, to top Group A with 14 points.

Two goals from Manchester City’s Riyad Manhrez and Galatasaray’s Sofiane Feghouli ensured the African champions progress to the play-off.

Six African countries are already through to the next round, where the five flag bearers from the continent will be decided.

They are Senegal, Morocco, Egypt, Ghana, Mali, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
