Wizkid has become the first African artiste to headline Glastonbury Festival
Glamtush reports that Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has achieved another major feat in his career becoming the first African artiste to headline the renowned Glastonbury Festival, the United Kingdom’s biggest music festival.
The ”Essence” crooner, Friday, performed at the festival’s “Other Side Stage” to an impressive crowd of over 210,000 attendees in Somerset, England.
The Grammy award star thrilled the audience with a medley of his hit songs; ‘Essence’, ‘One Dance’, ‘And Ojuelegba’, amongst others.
In 2022, the Glastonbury Festival experienced Grammy award-winning Nigerian star, Burna Boy, who fired up the crowd with his energetic performances and rendition of some of his hit records.
Burna graced the stage with top international acts like Billie Eilish, Lily Allen, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lorde.
