Vuelve a mí, an American television series created by Sergio Mendoza and Amaris Paez premieres on Telemundo Africa on Monday, April 8.
The series debut marks the return of the Cuban American actor to Telemundo, where he participated in two early network reality shows Isla de la Tentación and Protagonistas de Novela 2 in 2003 and most recently, Cafe Con Aroma De Mujer (The Scent of Passion) alongside Laura Londoño and Carmen Villalobos.
Before now, William Levy made a career and rose to fame in several Televisa telenovelas that also aired on Univision, like Cuidado con el Angel ((Don’t Mess with an Angel), co-starring with Maite Perroni and Sortilegio (Love Spell) alongside Jacqueline Bracamontes, among performances in other productions. He has also done films in English and starred and produced one himself, En Brazos de un Asesino. But it appears the actor’s lifeblood continues to be being a leading man on romantic dramas.
In “Come Back To Me,” Levy is Santiago, whose love interest is actress Samadhi Zendejas, in her first leading role as Nuria.
For Zendejas, who got her start in Televisa’s teen soap Atrévete a soñar a decade ago, and has had a series of main and recurring roles in other shows, this could be her big break into the world of leading ladies of telenovelas.
The drama which is set in Ciudad de Juárez and Ciudad de México, follows Nuria, a woman of humble means, who begins a relationship with Braulio (Ferdinando Valencia) without knowing he is one of the owners of the company where she works to support her son and sister. The lives of the main characters begin to intertwine after the tragic kidnapping of Nuria’s son Andrés. And when she least expects it, Santiago (Levy) enters her life to become the great love of her life and the pillar that keeps her hope alive.
“We have put a lot of passion into this project and are looking forward to sharing it with the world,” says Levy.
Vuelve a Mí, produced by Telemundo Global Studios at Telemundo Center’s soundstages in Miami, also stars Laura Flores, Christian de la Campa, Rodolfo Salas, Geraldine Galván, Amaranta Ruíz, Christian Ramos, Anthony Álvarez, Anna Sobero, Ariana Saavedra, with special participations by Fernando Ciangherotti and Diego Klein, and André Sebastián.
To catch William Levy in this new drama, tune in to Telemundo Africa, channel 33 on GOTV and channel 118 on DSTV from April 8.
