Wike has shunned Atiku, Okowa, Ayu and invited APC’s Umahi, Femi, and Sanwo-Olu to Rivers.
Glamtush reports that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has shunned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stakeholders, including presidential, vice-presidential candidates, and the National Chairman, Atiku Abubakar, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Iyorchia Ayu respectively to invite Umahi, Femi and Sanwo-Olu of APC to his state.
This online platform understands that the All Progressive Congress stakeholders invited by Wike would be in the state to commission infrastructural projects of his administration.
Some political experts said the Rivers State governor’s invitation to APC stakeholders shows all is not well within the PDP.
Dave Umahi, governor of Ebonyi State, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, on Sunday, paid a visit to Wike in Port Harcourt for “a partisan discussion.”
Governor Umahi will flag off the commission of some of the projects today, (Monday).
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will be in the state on Tuesday, to flag off the Orochiri-Worukwo flyover.
The only PDP governor, Aminu Tambuwa of Sokoto State, will be in the State on Tuesday to inaugurate the Ogbum-Nu-Abali Eastern Bypass dualized road.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, will inaugurate the House of Assembly quarters on Friday.
Former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, another PDP statkeholder who will commission dualized Azikiwe Illoabuchi Road.
Governor Nyesom Wike and Atiku Abubakar have been in a serious political game since Wike lost the PDP primary election.
Events in the PDP turned sourer when Atiku nominated Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as the vice-presidential candidate, against the recommendation of a committee set up on the matter, which favoured Wike.
Atiku stated that his reason for picking Okowa against the popular candidate Wike was for political reasons and the right choice.
Wike has been at a face-off with the PDP and Atiku. Different delegations sent to appease the governor of Rivers State reached a deadlock.
Wike’s camp among other things presented a request of the governor that Atiku must sign on paper to rule only one term if he wins the presidency.
The camp also demanded that the National Chairman of PDP, Iyorcha Ayu, resigns from his position.
These demands by Wike’s camp are yet to be met, PDP, Atiku and Wike are still in a political thug of war.
