As a woman do you actually know what you should carry about in your handbag? Well, the obvious things are makeup bag ( some women go about with more than one makeup bag), phones, keys, body spray and cash. But is that all you should take along with you daily? What about the other things that you might need to help you cope with the little emergencies in life that could happen suddenly?
Here is a list of some essential items ladies sometimes ignore but you should endeavour to carry in your handbag as they could come in really handy one day.
Ladies change handbag a lot so, you should remember to transfer all these items into each and every handbag you decide to carry.
Tissues
You shouldn’t leave home without a pack of tissue in your handbag or at least some roll of tissue. You could need it to wipe any makeup smudge, food spill, sweat and more.
Safety pins and small sewing kit
Yes you read correctly! It’s good to throw in a few safety pins in different sizes and a small sewing kit in your bag as you don’t know when you, a friend or even a colleague will need it to save any wardrobe malfunction ranging from a popped button to a split seam in your skirt down to a broken trouser zipper.
Pain relievers
It is always appropriate to have a pack or sachet of your preferred painkillers in your bag. Headaches, cramps, backache, body pain and any other kind of ache you don’t think of can occur at any time and this can really throw you off balance.
Period essentials
It’s always a good idea to carry your period essentials with you because sometimes you don’t know when Mother Nature will come calling. Also, you could be a potential lifesaver to a friend who isn’t as prepared as you are. So don’t be caught without any pads or tampons.
Handkerchief
You should have at least one or two handkerchiefs in your handbag to wipe sweat as well as manage some unforeseen emergencies like makeup smear or spill on clothes to help stop it from staining it.
Hand sanitizer
You don’t only have to carry a hand sanitizer in your bag when there is an outbreak of a particular disease as hand sanitizer should become a handbag essential too. A quick rub of your hands with alcohol based hand sanitizer will kill germs in seconds that you can pick from the hand-holds on public transport, shaking people’s hands and, of course use of public toilets.
Some money
Although the world is driving towards a cashless society, however, it is important to have money in your handbag no matter how small the amount may be as you will need to buy a drink, food, pay for transportation or good at the market as well as do much more.
Earpieces
You could listen to your favourite songs or other things on your phone by simply plugging in your ear piece into your phone so that you could be in your own world especially when you’re bored or in traffic and enjoy the moment. So, ensure to have a functional ear piece in your bag.
Sunglasses
Keep a pair of sunglasses in your bag, so you can protect your eyes from the scorching sun as well as dust.
Mints/gum
You should always have mints or gums in your handbag so that you don’t have any fear of having a bad breath after eating some kinds of food or spice. You could also throw mints or gum into your mouth to avoid vomiting after perceiving some foul odour.
A miniature notebook and pen
A mini notebook and a pen can come in very handy as well. So that you can quickly write down people’s phone numbers, make to-do lists, write down ideas as well as any other things that comes to your mind. Also have a pen; it doesn’t have to be a fancy one, just ensure it is functional.
