We Now Have Over 30,000 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases – Lagos Govt

 

 

 

 

The Lagos State government on Friday disclosed that about 30, 221 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the state.

This was revealed by the state’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle, NAN, reports.

Abayomi disclosed that 570 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed in the state on December 30, 2020, increasing the state’s tally to 30,221.

The Commissioner also added that a total of 219, 664 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state since the disease outbreak.

Abayomi said 2,901 COVID-19 patients who have been successfully treated and recovered were discharged from the state’s care centres.

“Total number of #COVID19 recovery in communities- 22,789.

“Cases currently under isolation-115, active cases under home-based care are 4,176,” he said.

He also disclosed that the state recorded three new COVID-19 related fatalities, increasing the number of deaths to 240.

Statistics by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, had revealed that the country currently has 1278 deaths from COVID-19.
