“L’Alliance Lepep is heading towards a huge defeat. I have tried to do what I can for the country and the population. The population has decided to choose another team. I wish good luck to the country,” Jugnauth, serving as prime minister since 2017, told reporters on Monday.
Voters went to the polls on Sunday to elect legislators for the 62 seats in Parliament for the next five years, from a list of 68 parties and five political alliances. The party or coalition to receives more than half the seats in parliament will also win the prime minister’s post.
This has fulfilled the prophecy of Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church which he shared one week ago regarding the administration of the incumbent prime minister.
“if there is a coalition, the ruling party will not get enough votes and the prime minister will have issues…..the people don’t want the prime minister again, they don’t like his policies and except he rigs, with the way things are, the prime minister is almost out if there is a coalition.”
To prove the potency of this prophecy, the Opposition leader Navin Ramgoolam, who is set to take over as prime minister for the third time, came on board again through a four-party Alliance of Change coalition.
This means the opposition leader joined forces with four parties to defeat the incumbent party at the election polls.
No doubt, this fulfills the prophecy of Primate Elijah Ayodele.
