Filmmaker Kayode Peters has been buried in Canada.
Glamtush reports that renowned Nigerian filmmaker, actor, and producer Kayode Peters has been laid to rest in Canada.
Peters was buried on Saturday, August 2, following a funeral service attended by close family members and friends.
His funeral service was held at the McKersie & Early House Funeral Home before his body was moved to the Milton Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario, where it was interred.
The service was marked by tears and solemn hymns, including the popular “It Is Well,” which guests were heard singing through their grief.
A video circulating on social media shows mourners at the interment as the late filmmaker’s body was lowered into the grave.
The 49-year-old died on June 28 in Toronto after battling an undisclosed illness.
Peters was a celebrated actor, producer, and director known for his significant contributions to Nigerian television and theatre.
He began his artistic career with the University of Lagos-based Theatre 15 group before transitioning into television.
He gained widespread recognition for creating the popular sitcom Flatmates in 2004 and later served as the executive producer of its revival, My Flatmates.
He also worked on other successful productions, including Twilight Zone and Papa Ajasco and Company.
