Two Killed, Others Injured As Herdsmen Attack Ebonyi camp
No fewer than two unidentified persons have been reportedly killed at Ukwu-Achi Ishieke in the Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The killing of the two persons, it was gathered, was said to be herdsmen induced.
Investigations revealed that many members of the affected community were seen running helter-skelter for fear of being arrested by the police.
Ukwu-Achi Ishieke is located partly along Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway of the state.
When contacted on Tuesday, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Loveth Odah, who said she did not have enough information about the development, promised to get back.
A late statement by the PPRO quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP Sule Maku, as saying that investigation into the matter had commenced.
The statement read, “The Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State Command, CP Philip Maku, has condemned the attack on Fulani Herdsmen camp at Ukwuachi Forest Ishieke in Ebonyi LGA of the State, which resulted to the death of two persons – one Adamu Ibrahim, ( 7) and Jubril Ibrahim (15) –leaving two others critically injured.
“One Ado Ibrahim, a Fulani herdsmen, who reported at Ishieke division, stated that the victims are his grandchildren and that the attack took place at their camp in the aforementioned area while the children were sleeping.”
