Glamtush reports that tension has gripped the Catholic community in Delta State as two priests, Reverend Father Chochos Kunav and Rev Father Raphael Ogigba, have been abducted in Agbaro Otor Area, near Warri, Delta State.
This online newspaper gathered that the two clerics were forcefully taken away by yet-to-be-identified gunmen along the Agbaro Otor Road on Saturday night, while on their way to Ughelli.
A statement issued by Rev Father Okereke Kizito and made available to journalists in Warri on Monday explained that Father Chochos who works in Ibadan was on a visit to his colleague of the Catholic Diocese of Warri, Rev Father Ogigba.
“They both later went to see another priest around Agbaro-Otor and on their way back they were abducted,” the statement said.
The statement called for prayers for the safe release of the abducted priests.
“We ask for intense prayers for quick and safe release. May Jesus the high priest and the good Shepherd take care of his priests and may our mother thrice admirable Queen and victress of schoenstatt intercede for them,“ it added.
The police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for comments on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
