1. The Nigerian Army has announced arrangements for the burial rites of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja. According to the program released on Tuesday the service of songs for the late CAOS will be held on Thursday at the army headquarters, garrison parade ground, Abuja, while the funeral service will be held on Friday at the National Christian Centre in the central business district (CBD), Abuja.

2. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday attributed frequent collapse of the national grid to the usage of substandard electric materials supplied by those he described as corrupt contractors in the power sector. The anti-graft agency explained that Nigeria could not achieve infrastructural or any form of growth under such conditions.

5. The Kano State Debt Management Office says it has serviced N63,508,024,580.03 of both foreign and domestic debts incurred by the Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led administration. The Director General, Kano State Debt Management Office, Dr Hamisu Sadi Ali, made this known while briefing journalists on the state of debt in the state.

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, national chairman of the party, Abdullai Ganduje and party stalwarts would on Wednesday (today) lead a ‘mega’ rally in support of the candidature of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria says over 30,000 of its members are set to buy Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in bulk. IPMAN also revealed that the price of petrol from the $20 billion Lekki-based plant was N940/litre and N990/litre when purchased using ships and trucks, respectively.

8. A lawyer and two other persons have been killed and several others injured as a truck conveying large consignments of flour rammed into shops at Utu Etim Ekpo, headquarters of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It was gathered that a woman, whose two legs were mangled in the accident, was rejected by medical workers at the nearby hospital.

9. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday called on the Peoples Democratic Party members in Ondo State to support the party’s candidate, Agboola Ajayi, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election. Atiku made the call in a press statement issued in Abuja.

10. President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja, Nigeria, after attending the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The presidential aeroplane touched ground at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 8 pm on Tuesday.
