1. The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero has been released on bail around 11:25pm by the Department of State Services (DSS) a few minutes to the midnight ultimatum issued by the unionists. Ajaero was arrested on Monday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on his way to the United Kingdom for an official assignment.
2. Operatives of the Department of the State Services (DSS) on Monday laid siege to the office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) in Abuja. According to a post via X, the legal and advocacy organisation said the operatives demanded to see its directors.
3. The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday disclosed that they know the sponsors of the #EndBadGovernance protests that rocked the country in August. 9. Suspected kidnappers have murdered a businessman, identified as Sunny Taxman, after reportedly collecting N10m ransom from his family. The deceased, said to hail from Alor Agu in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State, who was based in Onitsha, Anambra State, was said to have been kidnapped three weeks ago.

Nigeria’s telecom sector risks shutdown as about 800 workers from the Private Telecommunications and Communications Senior Staff Association have embarked on strike, threatening to cripple services nationwide. The union, largely contract staff, warned of massive disruptions to telecom operations if its demands were not met, as this would leave millions of subscribers to face a potential communication blackout.
