1. There was chaos at the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday, as the Department of State Services invaded the assembly, allegedly on the orders of the clerk. 2. The All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party have traded accusations over escalating violence in Osun State, which culminated in the killing of a former chairman of Irewole Local Government Area, Mr. Aderemi Abbas, and six others on Monday. The crisis was triggered by a contentious Court of Appeal ruling allegedly reinstating APC-elected local government chairmen.

3. Billionaire, Aliko Dangote has described his $23bn Dangote Refinery project as the “biggest risk” of his life, acknowledging the challenges he faced in bringing the venture to fruition. Residents of the Sedu 2 community in the Ogijo area of Ogun State are calling for an increased security presence, particularly from the Ogun State Police Command, following the discovery of a dismembered body of another woman on Sunday. The command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola said an investigation was underway to track down those responsible for the gruesome act, suspected to be a ritual killing.

8. Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, says he has ordered a tactical squad to restore peace in Osun State following the political crisis that erupted in the early hours of Monday. Egbetokun also vowed that those who killed and maimed would be brought to book, adding that the force would not tolerate any act of hooliganism, lawlessness and anarchy in the State.
