1. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Thursday approved the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework for 2025-2027 with a proposed budget of N47.9 trillion for 2025.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the FEC meeting, presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

2. President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications (State House).

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced this in a statement on Thursday.

3. Ahead of the final journey of Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the late Chief of Army Staff, his body was flown from Lagos to Abuja on Thursday.

The final interment will take place at the National Military Cemetery between 2 pm and 6 pm on Friday (today).

4. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has distributed sensitive materials to all 18 local government areas of Ondo State ahead of the Saturday governorship election.

Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, monitored the exercise held at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) facility in Akure on Thursday.

5. The Governing Council of the Federal University, Lokoja, has approved the dismissal of four lecturers over examination and sexual misconduct.

It was gathered that the Governing Council granted the approval at its Second Council Meeting on Thursday.

6. A man, Musa Jimoh, was sentenced on Thursday to a year and four months in prison by Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja Special Offences Court for impersonating a Nigerian Army Major and possessing fraudulent documents.

The judge held that the circumstances of the case were particularly grave.

7. The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of two persons by armed men suspected to be terrorists who attacked Yabo town, the headquarters of Yabo Local Government Area.

The command’s spokesman, ASP Ahmad Rufai, confirmed the attack, stating that Mallam Abubakar Umar Yabo and Malam Abba Muhammad were abducted from their homes by the assailants.

8. The Ondo State Government has declared Friday a public holiday for public servants in the state ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll.

This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, F. Ayodele.

9. The nation’s daily crude production has increased by an additional one million barrels per day (mb/d).

The output is now 1.8 mb/d, according to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari.

10. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has granted administrative bail to two men – Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu – charged alongside former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello for allegedly diverting the state’s funds.

The EFCC had filed a 16-count charge against Bello and the two other defendants, alleging a criminal breach of trust involving N110.4 billion.
