1. The pan-northern socio-political organisation, Arewa Consultative Forum, on Thursday, demanded the removal of the General Officer Commanding One Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major-General V.U. Okoro, over the accidental bombing of Tudun Biri, in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

2. The National Judicial Council, on Thursday, recommended the compulsory retirement of a judge of the Osun State High Court, Justice S. O. Falola. The NJC said he was found guilty of granting a garnishee order absolute against Polaris Bank for the sum of N283,174,000.00 in a questionable manner.

3. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, vowed that anyone found culpable in the accidental bombing of villagers on a religious procession in Kaduna will be punished. The Federal Government promised to rebuild Tudun Biri village, Afaka ward of Rigasa District in Igabi Local Government Area, where a routine terrorists-targeted air strike by the Army hit civilians on Sunday night.

4. The National Youth Service Corps has secured the release of two female prospective corps members kidnapped in Zamfara State on their way to the Orientation Camp in Sokoto State. The Army secured the release of the two victims. A statement by NYSC’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, said efforts were ‘on to ensure the safe release of the remaining four prospective corps members’.

5. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, expressed worry over the exodus of skilled youths from Nigeria in search of greener pastures abroad. The President is also concerned that many of those migrants were educationally-equipped youths on whom national resources have been expended.

6. Gunmen believed to be bandits have stormed Gandu, a Nasarawa State community and kidnapped some students at the Federal University of Lafia. An eyewitness said that the gunmen stormed a conference hotel situated along Makurdi road, opposite Nasarawa Housing Estate on Thursday at 2 am and kidnapped five students.

7. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, and five other political parties have formed a coalition. The movement tagged ‘the Coalition of Concerned Political Parties (CCPP)’ was formed in Abuja on Thursday at a meeting attended by leaders of the seven political parties at the National Secretariat of the SDP.

8. The Presiding Justice, Court of Appeal, Port-Harcourt Division, Justice Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh has died. Justice Ikyegh who hailed from Benue State reportedly died Wednesday afternoon at his Makurdi residence located at the Achussa community area of the state capital.

9. Fourteen hotels, churches, including Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG and a mosque have been sealed by the Lagos State government over noise pollution and other offences. Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunboh Wahab, while disclosing this, on Thursday, expressed the state government’s zero tolerance for noise and other actions that contribute to pollution in the state.

10. A Zamfara State High Court has sentenced one Anas Dahiru to death by hanging for killing his friend because of N100. Dahiru was brought to the court in June 2017 for allegedly stabbing his friend, Shamu Ibrahim, to death when the duo were fighting over the sum of N100.
