Toddler Dies After Cruel Step Mum Put Him In Bath Filled With Boiling Water

A cruel stepmother who killed her husband’s toddler son by putting him in a bath filled with boiling water has been jailed.

The woman, whose name has not been revealed, killed the two-year-old victim after a heated row with her husband over the children.

The father had asked her to take care of his two children, aged 4 and 2, from another relationship, and an argument ensued.

She then decided to “take revenge” for being forced to care for the kids by killing her husband’s toddler son, according to court files.

Despite trying unsuccessfully to appeal the sentence the woman was locked up for 20 years for the horrifying crime.

The shocking incident took place in an unidentified region of Jordan on October 1, 2018.

A court heard the murder was the last horrific step in a catalogue of abuse of the children by the woman, with court papers noting she “would often beat up the children and mistreat them.”

The court has now ruled that it was accepted that the stepmother poured boiling water into a bathtub and put the two-year-old boy inside.

She removed him when the youngster started screaming, and he was taken to a nearby hospital with first degree burns, according to the court papers.

The boy died a fortnight later from his injuries.

The woman was jailed in November 2019 by a lower court but her legal team challenged the ruling.

Jordan’s Supreme Court has now upheld a 20-year sentence, ruling that the defendant was handed the appropriate sentence for killing the boy.
