Glamtush reports that President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, commiserated with Nigeria’s former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.), over the death of his younger sister Salamatu Asabe.
“General, please accept my sympathy and condolences,” Tinubu said in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, titled, ‘President Tinubu condoles with General Abdulsalami Abubakar over sister’s passing.’
According to Ngelale, “It is with a heavy heart that President Bola Tinubu receives the news of the passing of Hajiya Salamatu Asabe, the younger sister of former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd).”
Tinubu who condoled with General Abubakar, the family, and all those who mourn the painful loss said, “My prayers are with you at this time of mourning. May Almighty Allah grant Hajiya Asabe Aljannah Firdaus.”
The President prayed that her family was comforted by her legacy and the beautiful memories she left behind.
Meanwhile, former President Muhammadu Buhari, also sent his message of condolence to former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, following the demise of Asabe.
In a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the former President said he and his family were “deeply saddened by the passing of the General’s sister but we are grateful to Almighty Allah for what she was to her family and her community where she did everything she could to assist those in need.”
The statement is titled ‘Former President Buhari joins General Abdulsalami in mourning sister’s demise.’
“We pray for the repose of her soul and fortitude to General Abubakar and the family to bear the loss,” Buhari added.
