‘This Is The Lord’s Doing’, Remi Tinubu Hails Supreme Court Verdict

First Lady, Remi Tinubu has hailed the Supreme Court verdict.

Glamtush reports that Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Tinubu, has described as “the Lord’s doing”, the Supreme Court verdict of October 26,  affirming her husband as the winner of the February 25, presidential election.

This online news platform understands that the President’s wife stated this on Tuesday during the Imo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Campaign Rally for the re-election bid of Governor Hope Uzodimma held in Owerri, the state capital.

“You can see, the court has already given my husband clean bill and we believe that this is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes,” an elated Senator Oluremi told a crowd of APC supporters decked up in party paraphernalia.

The President’s wife, who is also a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), promised that the South-East would be the industrial hub of Nigeria and encouraged the people to vote for the incumbent governor’s re-election in the November 11, 2023 poll.

“Let me tell you, like my husband promised, that the East will be the industrial hub of Nigeria,” she said. “And the development of South-East starts from Imo.”

After months of legal fireworks, the apex court last Thursday affirmed Tinubu, the then candidate of the APC, in the February presidential poll, as the winner of the keenly contested election.

Not satisfied with the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) earlier in September, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) had approached the Supreme Court seeking the nullification of Tinubu’s election on the grounds of double nomination, alleged certificate forgery, non-transmission of results electronically, 25% votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), amongst others.

However, last Thursday, the Justice John Okoro-led panel of the apex court threw out all the appeals by Atiku and Obi for lacking merit. The panel thereafter upheld electoral victory of Tinubu.
