Uduak Akpan, the suspected killer of Iniubong Umoren, a 26-year-old job-seeker, has pleaded guilty to her murder.
Akpan pleaded guilty before Justice Bennett Illaumoh of a High Court, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The case was before Justice Bennett Illaumoh whilst Mr Uko Udom, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Akwa Ibom State appeared for the State and Mr Adula Sampson represented the accused.
Glamtush had earlier reported that Uduak Akpan in March 2021 invited Iniubong, the job seeker to his residence in Nung Ikono Ufok, Uruan local government area for a job interview where he raped, murdered and buried the deceased in a shallow grave in the compound.
The late Iniubong Umoren was a graduate of a graduate of Philosophy, University of Uyo who was awaiting call-up to serve in the National Youth Service Corps when she met her untimely death.
Late Umoren was buried on Friday May 14, at her hometown, Nung Ita Ikot Obio Enin Atai in Oruk Anam local government area, Akwa Ibom State.
The case has been adjourned to 18th August 18, for next hearing.
