The move took Nigeria to 11th position in Africa. However, Argentina remain the best team in the world, followed by Germany who move up one spot behind Argentina. Brazil are third while Belgium and Colombia occupy the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
Nigeria’s next opponent at for the 2018 World Cup qualifying series Algeria are ranked the third best team in Africa, but remain 35th in the world.
Current Africa Cup of Nations champion, Cote d’Ivoire moved up three spots to 31st and the number one team in Africa.
