Sofoluwe Didn’t Die Of COVID-19, He Was Paralysed Before Death – Wife
Busola, the wife of late former Super Eagles defender, Yisa Sofoluwe, said that her husband was paralysed in both feet before he eventually died, debunking rumours that he died of COVID-19.
She stated this in a chat with The Punch during the burial of her husband at Atan Cemetery, Lagos on Wednesday.
Sofoluwe died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital on Tuesday after being diagnosed with mild cerebral atrophy, a brain disease, aged 53.

“News that my husband died of COVID-19 isn’t true. Even when the doctor released him to us today (Wednesday), the man said it was not COVID-19 that killed him. He said he did not write anything like that, he said he did not know who told people that my husband died of COVID-19, that it wasn’t him,” Busola said.
“So if they write that kind of thing, I will sue them, they should not lie, it is better for them to say the truth, they should please say the truth.

“COVID-19 cannot paralyse a person. Immediately that thing happened, his two legs were paralysed; is that COVID-19? I don’t know where they got their COVID-19 story from,” she said.
