Liberia’s President, George Weah, has been forced out of his office by snakes, hence, making him work from his private residence, reports BBC .
The president’s spokesman, Smith Toby, told the BBC on Wednesday that two black snakes were found in the foreign affairs ministry building.
“It’s just to make sure that crawling and creeping things get fumigated from the building.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts the office of the president, so it did an internal memo asking the staff to stay home while they do the fumigation,” Mr Toby said.
The ministry has been housing the President’s office since fire engulfed the presidential mansion in 2006.
Toby said the snakes escaped through a hole. “That building’s been there for years now, and because of the drainage system, the possibility of having things like snakes crawling in that building was high,” he said.
The ministry, according to Toby, on Friday began fumigating to ensure Weah’s return to the office on Monday.
