Skin Care Tips For Different Skin Types

Everyone dreams to have flawless and glowing skin. With various products being introduced in the market and endless skincare advice, it might be overwhelming to find a skincare routine that suits your needs.

By now, you already know the basics like getting enough sleep, drinking plenty of water, and washing your face. How about everything in between? Fortunately, you don’t have to spend plenty of fortune on any creams or procedures.

These skincare tips listed below will do wonders for your skin regardless if you have normal skin, sensitive skin, dry skin, combination skin, or if you are an oily skin type.

Know your skin type

One of the most important things to do for your skin is getting to know your skin type. If you are misinformed, you can compromise the natural balance of your skin. It can trigger inflammation, irritation, breakouts, and even premature aging. This is true if you keep on using the wrong products for your skin type.

The most common skin types are oily, dry, acne-prone, sensitive, and mature skin. It is important to take note that there can be more than one skin type. It can change over time through the seasons. As such, make sure to listen to your skin.

Use the right cleanser

According to experts, if you have an acne-prone or oily skin, you should use a benzoyl peroxide wash or salicylic gel. If you have dry mature skin, then you can use a milky cleanser or moisturizing glycolic. Finally, if your skin has brown spots or melasma, then you can use a brightening wash and best exfoliator. An example is an alpha hydroxy acid cleanser.

Take note that in the selection of facial cleanser, it must not leave your skin tight right after washing. Clean your face once or twice a day only. This is true if you have dry skin and you don’t wear makeup. Avoid over washing because this will only reap your natural oils in your face.

Period skin is normal

When you are on your period, it is normal to experience that your skin looks awful. Sometimes, you will feel like nothing is working. However, masks and best exfoliator will balance the skin instantly. The use of clay masks will reduce oil in your skin. Meanwhile, gel masks will calm the redness.

Apply products in the right order

If you fail to apply the products in the right order, you can prevent them from getting fully-absorbed. This means that it won’t be as effective as it is. The rule is to apply the most lightweight product first and the heaviest last. Start with cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, spot treatment, moisturizer, and sunblock.

Give it time

Skincare products have come a long way. There is no instant fix. According to experts, you need time to reap its benefits. You can see the results only through consistent use. In general, you must keep on using the product at least six weeks to see results. Furthermore, with any skin type, make sure to apply the product in order of consistency. Apply it from thinnest to thickest.
