Single Mother Locks Family Of 7 Inside Shop, Set Them Ablaze
Facts have emerged on why a single mother, Miss Imole Sesan, locked a shop belonging to her late father’s sister, Mrs. Remi Joseph, from outside then poured petrol from the window and set 7 members of the family ablaze while they were asleep over rent in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Dupeolu Street, Pipeline Bus Stop in Idimu area of Lagos, where Mrs. Remi Joseph was sleeping with her children and grand children who visited.
So far, three of the victims have already died due to severe burns including Mrs. Remi Joseph while doctors are still battling to save the lives of the other victims at the hospitals.
The Police from Idimu Division have arrested the suspect, Imole and transferred her to the Homicide Section of the SCIID Panti, Yaba, Lagos, for further investigation over dastardly act, which caused the death of the victims.
It was gathered that the suspect, Imole visited Mrs. Remi on 1st and 3rd of January 2021, demanding for money from her late father’s share on the rent of the family property located at Mafoluku in Oshodi, Lagos and she was told that the tenants have not paid their rents.
She did not believe Mrs. Remi even after calls were placed to some of the tenants to confirm if they have paid any rent.She was said to have become very angry and threatened to deal with Mrs. Remi, which she eventually did.
The suspect, Imole, was said to have used razor blade in the early morning, tore the window net, poured petrol from bottled water can and then used matches to set the place on fire.
The whole shop started burning from the inside and the victims struggled to come out but she had already locked the shop from outside; they were severely burnt before they were rescued and rushed to hospital.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited Idimu Police Station to speak with the suspect, Imole Sesan, the Police sources said that the matter has been transferred to SCIID Panti for further investigation.
Imole Sesan may likely be charged before the Court for murder and if she is tried and found guilty, she may be hanged or may spend the rest of her life in prison due to the dastardly act caused by anger.
