Singer Ashanti Tests Positive For COVID-19
Multiple award-winning American singer, Ashanti has revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19 hours before her Verzuz battle against Keyshia Cole.
The Verzuz battle is an American webcast series created by producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.
The series invites two music icons, predominantly R&B and hip-hop, to highlight their discographies in two 10-song rounds during a three-hour session.
Ashanti and Keyshia Cole were set to face-off on Saturday night. However, the show was canceled.
Soon after news of the Verzuz cancellation broke, Ashanti took to IG to reveal why the event wasn’t happening after all.
She posted a message that read, “Hey y’all. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I tested positive for COVID-19. I’m OK and not in any pain. I’m actually down to do the Verzuz from my house…we’re trying to figure it out.”
So, it looks like we all have to wait another day to see an epic showdown between the two R&B legends.
