See The World’s Most Expensive Diamond-Encrusted Facemask Worth $1.5m
Have you seen the most expensive facemask in the world? Well, it is a diamond-encrusted facemask worth $1.5 m designed by an Israeli jewellery company.
When it is completed, the 18-carat white gold, diamond-encrusted mask will be decorated with more than 3,600 white and black diamonds.
Isaac Levy, designer and owner of Yvel company, based in Jerusalem, said in addition to requesting the most expensive mask in the world, the anonymous Chinese businessman based in the United States who is the buyer asked that the bespoke mask be completed by the end of the year.
Levy added that the customer only required that the facemask meets three conditions. “The first is that it must be N99 approved by the FDA and European standards. The second condition was that it would be delivered before December 31st this year and the third condition was that it would be the most expensive mask in the world.”
The mask is expected to weigh half a pound when completed
“Money maybe doesn’t buy everything, but if it can buy a very expensive Covid-19 mask and the guy wants to wear it and walk around and get the attention, he should be happy with that,” Levy said.
Interestingly, Levy said he would not wear the mask himself, he is grateful his company was commissioned to create it.
“I am happy that this mask gave us enough work for our employees to be able to provide their jobs in very challenging times like these times right now,” he said.
To complete the project, Levy told the Jerusalem Post that he carefully selected 25 jewellers and diamond setters from the company’s staff to work in shifts.
