Glamtush reports that the Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON) recently hosted an end-of-year gathering to honor its outgoing executive council members who served during the 2022-2024 administration under the leadership of Otunba Femi Davies.
At the well-attended event, the new SDNON president, Adeniyi Ifetayo, praised the outgoing administration for establishing a strong foundation for the organization’s future growth. Ifetayo emphasized that his administration is committed to building upon their predecessors’ achievements while introducing innovative programs focused on member welfare and professional development.
“We are positioned to make a significant impact on society, particularly in areas of welfare and capacity building,” Ifetayo stated. “Our vision encompasses ensuring all-round growth for our members while maintaining the high standards set by the previous administration.”
Supporting the president’s vision, SDNON Vice President Gbenga Shaba highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in achieving the organization’s objectives. “Our focus will be on fostering meaningful collaborations that will benefit all our members and strengthen our position in Nigeria’s digital media landscape,” Shaba explained.
In a forward-looking announcement, Secretary Seunmanuel Faleye revealed that the society plans to release its comprehensive calendar and itinerary for 2025 in early January, demonstrating the new administration’s commitment to transparent and organized leadership.
According to the statement released by SDNON’s Public Relations Officer, Kanyinulia Okeke, the event served not only as a celebration of past achievements but also as a platform to outline the organization’s strategic direction under its new leadership.
The transition is a significant milestone for SDNON as it continues to evolve and adapt to the changing digital journalism ecosystem in Nigeria, with a renewed focus on professional development and member welfare.
